Barbie's dirty secret!

So, about a month ago I saw a Greenpeace campaign about Barbie. I thought it was a joke but it was more serious than I thought.
I LOVE Barbie. I think you all know that, I had lots of posts about Barbie, and her style, and how it's a sweet memory to me cause she was a company for me through my childhood. Although I love her, this is a must-know subject for Mattel (her company).

You see, Mattel uses paper boxes to wrap Barbie in. They thought it would be good for their company to use cheaper boxes, to save money from the production. That's why they destroy Indonesia rainforests to wrap Barbie dolls in a cheap but beautiful package. The big problem is that elephants and tigers lose their last shelter. Mattel is cooperating with a company called: Asia Pulp and Paper (APP) which is one of the worst companies for rainforests. They cut them off with no shame.

The toys of the future must NOT threat rainforests and their wildlife.

So, Greenpeace started a big campaign to force Mattel not to buy paper for Barbie's wraping from this company that kills rainforests. They're using Ken -Barbie's ultimate and forever boyfriend- to make her change her mind.

For all greek followers: the campaign is also transfered to our language and has the support of Greenpeace Greece.
Here's the logo translation to our language:

You can see, Ken's beautiful and peaceful face has changed to an angry face. That's because I think Greenpeace wants to ''change'' a well-known face to show the big change and how bad is what's happening. Ken is also used for this campaign because of his recent ''back-together relationship with Barbie after many years they had broken up.

What YOU can do to change this fact:
You can go to : http://www.greenpeace.org/greece/barbie (for Greeks) and to http://www.greenpeace.org/international/en/campaigns/forests/asia-pacific/barbie/ (for all other countries- and then choose your country or press the link for Greenpeace International if your country is not in the list). Then
you are transfered to a page that you can type your name, e-mail etc. and send an already written message to the CEOof Mattel, Bob Eckert,  to make him stop using these boxes for Barbie.

Greenpeace is a well known and respectable organisation and I think they'll succeed in this campaign. Also, Mattel is a very big company and they'll lose a lot from this campaign, so they'll have to stop doing this after so many people learned about this bad habit.
